Indianapolis Senior Picture Locations

Graduating from high school is one of the biggest milestones of a lifetime! Commemorating this accomplishment and celebrating how far you’ve come is so important. Indeed, senior portraits are a great way to honor your achievement. They memorialize your senior year, honoring how much you’ve done and welcoming you to a new era. It’s a goal of mine for every senior portrait session to create images that are timeless and classic, that stand the test of time and please all parties: seniors and their parents! These are images that will last a lifetime and be handed down for generations. They may be some of the most monumental portraits you’ll ever take in your lifetime. Don’t let this deter you, though! Upon choosing a photographer who knows her way around every aspect of a senior portrait session, your session is safe with me. I’ve learned my way around the light, locations, and preparation for my craft so you don’t have to worry about a thing when you are wondering about perfect Indianapolis senior picture locations.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I love the diversity of the location choices for backdrops around Indianapolis! There’s something for everyone, a location to fit every personality and really bring your senior photo session to life. For students in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, these six sites are perfect for your senior picture session.

Take a Senior Picture at Coxhall Gardens

For a fun floral vibe, the Coxhall Gardens in Carmel are a great location. This bright park features 125 acres of rolling greens and festive flora, as well as several photo-worthy landmarks (such as gazebos, statues, bell towers, and a lake). With vibrant flora dotting the entire landscape, your portraits will have a cheerful, colorful background, with radiant you as the focus! This site is, indeed, perfect for seniors who want a happy, bright, and organic feeling in their portraits.

Newfields

Newfields is a natural haven, tucked away in the heart of Indianapolis. This perennial, refined park features several gardens, each of which provides a perfect backdrop for senior pictures. The Formal Gardens, Ravine Garden, Orchard, Four Seasons Garden, Rain Garden, and Border Gardens are just a few of the many locations this site has to offer. Further, the intimate, yet graceful, feel of these gardens will uplift your portraits. Sophisticated seniors who want a personal, elegant aesthetic for their photoshoot will adore the Newfields gardens.

Eagle Creek

Indianapolis’s own Eagle Creek Park boasts over 3,900 acres of woodlands, meadows, and ponds. This slice of nature provides a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, as well as being a serene scene ideal for a photoshoot. The reservoir within the park grounds also provides a charming riverside backdrop. This quaint setting will bring a rustic, down-to-earth vibe to your senior pictures. Whether it’s along the peaceful riverbank, within the shaded woods, or in the center of a still meadow, this site has the perfect scene to capture you among the wilderness. The timelessness of raw nature, indeed, ensures your pictures stay memorable for a lifetime.

Fountain Square

In the heart of downtown Indy is Fountain Square, a cultural landmark and iconic entertainment hotspot. When you think of your dream senior picture aesthetic, do you envision bright lights, a spirited city, and retro art? If so, Fountain Square is the location for you. Snapping your senior shots beside the central fountain will capture you in the heart of a vintage downtown plaza. Or, for a glamorous, old Hollywood vibe, pose beneath the Fountain Square Theater lights. The vibrant neon signs will add a pop of color and energy to your portraits, showing off your spirited personality.

Indiana War Memorial

The Indiana War Memorial captures the essence of contemporary architecture. Built in 1924, this monument combines the art deco style of the 20th century with neoclassical design elements to create a breathtaking scene. This memorial makes a wonderful photoshoot setting. The strong, geometric building as a backdrop reflects the hard work and determination it takes to complete your high school career. Further, for a focused academic, this site will highlight your studiousness. The modernity of the architectural features will bring an open and fresh feel to your portraits as well.
